Create texts for a property

Texts on a property appear in views when searching online and in BookingStudio.
It is possible to export texts to physical catalogues. Under “Texts”, a presentation video can also be uploaded to a property.

How texts and video are displayed on the website is defined by those who have set up the website.
Texts help to optimize the display of the property page on Google in search results.

In order to be able to create texts on a property, the property must at least be created with master data.

Here you start

If you are at the property, select texts in the gray menu bar.

Otherwise, search for the property and select “Texts” in the shortcut menu that appears.

Fill out the blanks

  1. Create Period – Select a period for when this text will be displayed publicly.
Should the text appear all the time, leave the dates as the system suggests – from the year 1900 to 9999.
  2. Language – the languages in which the installation was created are displayed.
Click on each language (tab) to access the same text fields.
They must be completed for the language in question.
  3. Headline – Title or heading for the property.
  4. Description – An adequate description of the property. This is the only field where the text can be formatted. If the field is filled in, it is these texts that appear when you have made a search in Sales -> Booking and clicking on the calendar line for the property.
  5. Summary – a short description of the property one that appears in the list view in BookingStudio and is intended as an “appetizer”.
  6. Meta Description – This text can be displayed for the property in Google searches.
  7. Catalogue text – a complete description for a property, but without formatting of the text. If the Description field is empty, then this text will be displayed when a search is made in Sales -> Booking and clicked on the calendar line for the property.

The catalogue text can be sent from BookingStudio to e.g. a printing company if you make printed matter.
    Read more here “Catalogue export“.
  8. Video code – if the video is uploaded to YouTube, you can copy and paste the “embedded code” from the video into this field.
  9. Short URL – this field is not used. The location of the property on a map is set up under the property’s master data.

Click “Save”.

You can remove the text fields that you do not use. The settings are set in the menu:
Settings -> Overview -> Lodging Settings.
Changes will apply as standard for text fields on all properties.

What texts can be retrieved via the API?
The rules for what is retrieved via the API are as follows:

Partner API – here data is retrieved from the specified language.
Heading, Summary, Meta Description and one large property description are included.
The agent description is retrieved if it is turned on, otherwise the description is retrieved.
If there is no content in the Description, the Catalogue text is retrieved.

Admin API – here data is retrieved from all fields for all languages.

Edit, Copy or Delete text

Once the texts have been created, they will be displayed on the first page when searching for the property -> Texts.

Via the black arrow you get the opportunity to edit, copy and delete text.

The texts are time-controlled, this means you can add more texts to be displayed at different times.
The text displayed depends on the arrival date of the search / reservation.

If you want to create more text, you can e.g. copy a period and create the new text based on it.
Be aware that the periods do not overlap.
